VIDEO TRANSCRIPT:Teaching Method is Communicative Language Learning (CLT). The purpose of CLT is to build and have a communication skill. I will apply an activity that involves students to work in partners and communicate with each other in ASL.
Focus on LGBTQ+ students in ASL college level courses. It’s challenging for students who are not comfortable to be themselves in the classroom with no diversity. It’s important for them to feel safe and inclusive by providing LGBTQ vocabulary terms that seems to fit them. BOYFRIEND, GIRLFRIEND, PARTNER, BOY, GIRL, NON-BINARY, NOT-WANT, MAYBE, HUSBAND, WIFE, SPOUSE, PARENT [Next slide] MOTHER, FATHER, FAMILY, DAUGHTER, SON, NON-BINARY CHILD, BROTHER, SISTER, SIBLING, TWIN, LEAVE-FOR-DATE, FALL-IN-LOVE [Next slide] Tell me what do you see in this picture. Yes, two women married. That's right. Next to them, what do you see? That's right, man and woman married. Next to them, what do you see? That's right, two men married. [Next slide]Tell me what do you see in this picture. Father, mother and two children they are family. Next to them, what do you see? That's right, two women with two children. They are family. [Nex slide] Now I'm going to show you the number of children. If they are no children, then you sign NONE with head shake. Contrastive structure is when you distinguish the difference between two things. For example; one girl and one boy, two boys and one girl, three girls two boys and two nonbinary children.
